Myth or fact: glowy skin is achievable in the winter…
Ain't nothin’ but the TRUTH!! The winter has it’s reputation for causing dull, dehydrated, and flakey skin. The cold temperatures suck all the moisture out of the air, which can leave you with lifeless, parched-looking skin. It is essential to replenish your skin with extra moisture during these chilly months if you aspire to have glowy skin all year round. Although, if you’re giving your skin what it needs, and implement these five ingredients in your skincare routine, you’ll be golden… literally.
1. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an essential ingredient if you want more hydrated and plump skin. It plays a key role in collagen synthesis - which helps increase skin elasticity and helps your body's skin repair process, thus encouraging your body to form new collagen. The long term benefits of having Vitamin C in your beauty routine can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, helping skin look brighter, refreshed and healthier. It’s also a rich antioxidant that helps to fight free radical damage.
2. Antioxidants
Antioxidants are the most powerful skin-benefiting ingredients in the game. Not only do they diminish free radicals, but they work to promote healthy, fresh-looking skin by having anti-inflammatory properties. You can find antioxidants in the different vitamins that are included in the ingredient deck of your cosmetic or skincare products. Vitamin E and C have high antioxidant properties, which is why we include these in our Eco-Luxe Liquid Foundation, Length + Curl Mascara, Concealer, Eco-Set Green Tea + Rice Setting Powder, Eyeshadow and Lipstick… just to name a few (wink wink).
3. Rosemary
Rosemary is great for detoxifying your skin, and also works as the most natural preservative in the beauty industry. It helps your skin by working as a daily defense against environmental toxins and pollutants. If you’re trying to achieve that glowy skin, try to find this on the ingredient list of your cosmetics. Rosemary helps produce glowy skin by naturally treating skin issues such as wrinkles and sun damage.
Rosemary is in our Eco-Luxe Liquid Foundation, Cheek Tint, Concealer, Bali Bronze, Length + Curl Mascara, Eyeshadow, and Lipstick.
4. Thyme
Thyme can be a powerful ingredient in your cosmetics as it has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why we use it in our products as another natural and organic preservative. Most preservatives can leave the skin red and irritated, but Thyme’s soothing skin properties help nourish and protect the skin from breakouts. YES, please!
Thyme is known to have a substantial amount of manganese and vitamin K, which will help deliver beneficial antioxidants to your skin. This helps to fight off free radical damage, leaving your skin with a healthy, youthful glow.
Thyme is in Eco-Luxe Liquid Foundation, Cheek Tint, Length + Curl Mascara and our Lipstick. It’s thyme to check your labels, ladies!
5. Sunflower Seed Oil
Sunflower seed oil is rich in a compound called Sesamol, which is a rich antioxidant with the ability to help minimize sun damage. This nourishing ingredient works as an emollient, to trap moisture within your skin leaving you hydrated throughout the day. We include this ingredient in our Bali Bronze, Cheek Tints, Length + Curl Mascara, Lip Glosses, and Liquid Lipsticks.
